Success story

My dream was to become a mechanic and I did it.

Godfrey, 16 years old, Hoima District

How do apprenticeships improve lives?

If there are no opportunities to train young people for decent jobs, there is no choice for youths other than to continue working in hazardous conditions.

ECLT provided 240 mechanical apprentiships for young people in Uganda

Now they have the tools to access a better job market, acheive their professional goals and earn a decent income.

In 2014, Godfrey started his apprenticeship to become a mechanic. At the end of his training he received a tool kit and started working in a garage.
