Combatting Child Labour in Agriculture through multi-stakeholder collaboration

Our Snapshop Session on Stakeholder Engagement at the 2024 United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights

The ECLT Foundation is delighted to co-organise the "Combatting Child Labour in Agriculture through multi-stakeholder collaboration" snapshot session with Better Cotton.

This session will feature the experiences of Better Cotton and ECLT as multi-stakeholder initiatives working to implement a smart mix of measures to address child labour in agriculture. Together, we will discuss the vital roles that companies, governments and civil society play in tackling the root causes of child labour and assess the opportunities for multi-stakeholder initiatives to advance human rights due diligence in agriculture.

To provide a solid foundation for our discussion, we'll be referring to a set of background documents that examine the role of multi-stakeholder initiatives in protecting human rights in agriculture.

About Better Cotton

Better Cotton is a global not-for-profit organisation supporting the production of more equitable and sustainable cotton at farm level. We exist to catalyse the cotton farming community with partners, governments and others to continuously drive positive impact by setting standards and facilitating the supply and demand of more sustainable cotton from farm to brand. In just 15 years we have aligned more than a fifth of the world’s cotton with our standard and helped farmers and farming communities thrive.
